However, over the years I have seen a few of my older projects and have been disappointed with the greying discoloration caused by the sun and or oxidation. I have mentioned it to past clients and family members that maybe they should just keep my work in the closet... Nobody really liked that solution. I have tried several different finishes with minor to fair success. At the bottom of this blog I have added a picture of my latest cedar vase that was soaked in peanut oil for four months prior to final turning and finish. My newest test is to use a solution that has been used over the centuries to soak violin boards. Praying it works. Time will only tell.
